Stonington Police Department to See Big Changes Following Recent Retirements

Three police detectives with nearly a century of experience have retired.

STONINGTON, CT – Three police detectives with nearly a century of experience have retired as of the end of August, The Day reported.

Due to the retirement of a few key long-time members, the Stonington Police Department will see changes in terms of new perspectives and energy, according to The Day. Many of the new officers coming in have even worked with the retiring officers to some extent.

Retirees included John Fiore in November after 37 years, Cody Floyd this spring after 27 years and Detective Sgt. David Knowles at the end of August after 31 years, The Day reported. The new detectives are reportedly seasoned investigators.
