Stonington School Ranked Among State's Top Middle Schools

STONINGTON, CT — A Stonington school ranks among the best in the state, according to new rankings released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report.

Stonington Middle School ranked No. 30 in the state. The grades 6 to 8 school has 397 students. At Stonington Middle School, 51% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 71% scored at or above that level for reading.

Two Stonington elementary schools were also ranked: Deans Mill School came in at No. 51, and West Vine Street School was ranked No. 165.

The news outlet based its 2024 Best Elementary and Middle School rankings on publicly available data from the U.S. Department of Education, focusing on student proficiency in core subject areas.

The U.S. News list includes data on more than 79,000 public elementary and middle schools nationwide.
