Stonington Schools Hire New Superintendent

STONINGTON, CT — The Board of Education unanimously approved a contract to hire Mary Anne Butler as the district's next superintendent, according to The New London Day. Butler has served as the district's assistant superintendent since 2017.

Superintendent Van Riley has served the district for the last nine years and is retiring in October.

Twenty-four people from ten states applied for the district's top job, The New London Day reported. Butler's contract is for three years at a $200,000 salary.
