Stonington Schools Move To Full Distance Learning
The school district has announced that students will be learning from home until Dec. 4.
STONINGTON, CT — Stonington Public Schools have announced that they will be on a full distance learning schedule from Thursday until Dec. 4.
The following statement was published on the district's website: "Stonington High and Stonington Middle Students will begin full distance learning on November 19th through December 4th.
"Both elementary schools will remain on the current hybrid schedule through November 25th. All Schools will be full distance learning the entire week after thanksgiving: November 30th through December 4th.

"Our plan is to return to the hybrid model at all schools beginning Monday, December 7th. Parents and Students will be notified if there are any changes. Please contact your school if there are any questions regarding your student's schedule."
The news comes as schools around the state are canceling in-person learning due to a spike in COVID-19 cases.

Connecticut had 2,042 new coronavirus cases reported Wednesday and a positive test rate of 5.98 percent. The state is on track to break 100,000 total identified cases by the end of the week. Connecticut took until Aug. 2 to break 50,000 total identified cases.
