Stonington Schools Request $4.45 Million For Capital Projects
The school district's 10-year capital improvement plan would cost $12 million.
STONINGTON, CT - While the school district's budget is scheduled to slightly decrease, capital improvement projects are slated to increase to $4.45 million from $879,402, the Westerly Sun reported. The request is part of the district's 10-year plan, $12-million plan to improve facilities.
Some of the improvements requested in this year's budget include several items for the middle school: $815,000 for parking lot improvements; $600,000 for upgrading air conditioning and electrical to connect to Wi-Fi; and $209,000 for a secured entryway.
