Stonington Schools Superintendent Search Moves Forward

STONINGTON, CT — The Stonington superintendent search is advancing toward the selection of a new superintendent. The District has received applications from 24 educators who are interested in the position. The pool includes candidates from ten different states, with the majority being from New England, New York and New Jersey.
The Board will be using a candidate profile that resulted from a needs assessment that was completed in January to help identify the best candidates for consideration. Approximately 275 stakeholders participated in focus groups and a survey in defining the priorities for the qualities and characteristics of the next superintendent and in defining the major challenges for the next superintendent.

The candidate profile can be found on the District's website. The Board wishes to extend thanks to all who participated in the needs assessment.
The Board hopes to name a new superintendent by April 1st, with the intentions of having the new superintendent in place for July 1, 2022.
