Stonington Sewer Charges to Increase by 5 Percent Next Year
The Water Pollution Control Authority will be raising residents' rates soon.

STONINGTON, CT – The Water Pollution Control Authority has raised its rates by 5 percent, which will affect residents’ bills next year, the Westerly Sun reported.
The authority said residents’ bills will not see an increase on their bills until February, according to the Westerly Sun. The rate increase is the second of two 5 percent increases since January.
The authority operates Stonington’s three wastewater treatment plants, according to the Westerly Sun. The original intention was to raise the rate at the start of the year, but it was decided to spread it out over the year to make it easier on residents.
