Stonington Softball Program President Charged With Equipment Theft

Police said they caught him on video kicking in a door and taking equipment.

STONINGTON, CT- A Stonington softball program’s president is facing charges after he was allegedly caught on video allegedly stealing equipment, the Westerly Sun reported.

Police said Jeremy Emard, 42, was caught on video surveillance kicking open the door to a softball storage shed at the Spellman Recreation Complex in May, the Westerly Sun reported. He then took two bats, softballs and various other equipment, police said.

The bats were valued at around $150 each, while the bag of various equipment was valued around $100, according to the Westerly Sun. Officers later searched his trunk and found the equipment, along with other items.
