Stonington Town Hall Will Be Closed To The Public For Normal Business On Election Day

The entire main hallway will need to be utilized so that absentee ballots can be counted throughout the day.

Please take note that on November 3, 2020- Election Day- Town Hall will be closed to the public for normal business. Staff will be working in the building and can be reached via email or phone as was done during the COVID-19 closures. The reason we will be closed is that the entire main hallway of Town Hall will need to be utilized so that absentee ballots can be counted throughout the day.

  • Residents who are not registered to vote in Stonington on Election Day can take advantage of Election Day Registration (EDR) and will be entering and exiting the building through the side door in the rear of the building from 6:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
  • For those who need to drop off their absentee ballots, please place your absentee ballot in the official drop box outside Town Hall by 8:00 p.m.
  • Those looking to view the public process of absentee ballot counting may come to the same entrance and will be shown the viewing area.
