STONINGTON, CT — The Stonington Village Improvement Association (SVIA) is pleased to announce that it is once again sponsoring its traditional tree lighting ceremony and Holiday Stroll on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 5:30 pm in Wadawanuck Square. With generous help from the Stonington Borough Merchants Association and the Stonington Free Library, this event will be a welcome “return to normal” after the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event will include a community carol sing, led by Ellen Gilbert, and a special visit by Santa. Following the lighting of the tree will be the annual Holiday Stroll down Water Street, where local merchants keep their shops open late to welcome visitors. Merchants will compete for the most festive window display in “Borough A-Glow,” sponsored by the Stonington Borough Merchants Association. The Woodfellas Pizza food truck will be available for purchasing food and drink for the stroll.
