Stonington Borough To Vote On Proposed Changes To Charter: Report
The proposed changes were suggested by the Charter Revision Commission.
STONINGTON, CT ā The Board of Warden and Burgesses has agreed to place proposed changes to the charter on the ballot for the borough election in May 2019, the New London Day reported. The board unanimously approved the Charter Revision Commission's final recommendations on Monday.
According to the Day, proposed changes to make borough government more sustainable and efficient include reducing the number of burgesses from six to four, consolidating commissioner duties and eliminating the position of tax collector among other ideas.
