STONINGTON, CT — Stonington voters rejected a proposed short-term rental ordinance 694 to 342 in a referendum Monday, The New London Day reported. The ordinance would have required short-term rental property owners to register with the town, meet safety regulations, and conform to other restrictions.

Seven percent of the town's voters participated.
