Stonington Woman Charged for Threatening Facebook Post: Police

Police said her post threatened to find and beat people with a bat.

STONINGTON, CT – A woman was charged with posting a threatening message to Facebook on Thursday, promising to beat possible kids with a bat, The Day reported.

Cheryl Maleski, 46, was issued a summons after posting a threatening message on the Stonington Community forum Facebook page, according to The Day. Police said she was upset because someone had stolen cash from her daughter’s unlocked car.

Police said the message claimed Maleski would go to different younger people “party spots” with a bat, and that the parents of the kids who took the money should keep them home because she was coming after them, according to The Day. Residents later reported the post to police.
