The Mystic & Noank Library is joining libraries across the U.S. and Canada to celebrate the third annual Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, February 1, 2014. This grass-roots initiative to encourage parents and caregivers to bring young children to libraries has gained national attention and has proven to be very popular.
The Library has special programs planned for the entire day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Valentines crafts will be available all day for take-home and to put on the Giant Valentine in the Children’s Room. Chess boards will be available for play at 10 a.m. The Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center will present a free program on reptiles at 11 a.m. The Library will show the family film “Turbo” at 1 p.m. and the film “Smurfs 2” at 3 p.m. Children are encouraged to sign up for a library card and to learn about the interesting and fun things there are to do at the Mystic & Noank Library.
