Task Force To Explore Stonington Plastic Bag, Straw Ban: Report

Town officials voted to form a task force​ that will explore the idea of banning plastic bags and straws in Stonington.

STONINGTON, CT — The Board of Selectmen voted Wednesday to form a task force that will explore the idea of banning plastic bags, straws and plastic restaurant takeout containers in Stonington, the New London Day reported.

According to the Day, selectmen could potentially add more plastic items to the list after they receive more input from residents. Selectmen will interview and appoint members to the task force in two weeks, who will then report back with recommendations in 90 days.
