THANK YOU MYSTIC COMMUNITY

2014 has brought us, Coogan Gildersleeve Appliances, to our fifth year of fundraising for MASH: Mystic Area Shelter and Hospitality.

Over the course of the five years we have raised over $25,000 for Mystic Area Shelter and Hospitality. This could not have been done without the generous donations by our local business owners to the silent auction year after year. Their overwhelming support ensures the fundraiser is successful in helping MASH improve the lives of our local displaced families and get them back on the right road. Coogan Gildersleeve, MASH and all who have charitably supported the event, believe …

Coogan Gildersleeve began sponsoring the MASH charity event because of the enthusiasm and inspiration of Glenn Dean and Lucy Navarro. Glenn Dean for his  generosity and compassion in offering his heart and business so such an event can take place, Lucy Navarro’s in the commitment and man hours she contributes with her family, into making the majority of the Polish cuisine offered at the fundraiser with her poise and smile, she makes it all seem effortless.

Cooking alongside Lucy, Dave Blaney owner of Catering By The Sea, donated his time and fare at the event offering his mouth watering Pork Sliders and Corn Fritters.

The behind the scene volunteers included Janet Purinton for the “Spring is around the corner” table floral arrangements as well as sesame cookies so admired that the written recipe was insisted upon by patrons. Mike Vassello offered a plate of delicious lemon squares as well as his hustle and bustle in the kitchen.  Kathy Castagna who offered her help in the kitchen, as well as selling raffle tickets for door prizes. Barbara Gildersleeve was in the kitchen, keenly cooking perogies to perfection. Carl Russak accompanied Cheyenne Holliday busing tables as well as receiving and placing gifted items in the donation zone. Cody Holliday manned the coffee station as well as being a runner for any job that needed doing. Steve Gadaree oversaw that all things were working without glitches that would impede production prior to and during the event. Kate French and CJ Lewis organized, presented and awarded the Silent Auction items at the fundraiser. WBLQ’s Chris DiPaola and crew spread the word and set the lively mood with their radio broadcast presence.

The set up crew Charles Chaffee and Scott Kilgus worked diligently clearing the floor of all the appliances, organizing and clearing a space for all the donated housewares as well as acquiring the table and chairs, donated for use for the event by Gunther International, then setting them all up for the event.

Thank you all for coming to the 2014 MASH fundraiser and continuing to help our local families get back on track from their very difficult time. It is a true gift to be among the most charitable people and supportive community.
