A travel website recently released a list of the top 15 small towns in the state to see and experience.

Though Connecticut is filled with many cities and entertainment epicenters, it is arguably its small towns that give the state its undeniably New England charm.
Though many areas are very close to big city destinations like New York, there are a number of small communities that are worth making a trip out to enjoy.
Travel website The Crazy Tourist recently compiled a list of the fifteen best small towns in Connecticut to help readers discover locations that fit into the charming mold. Topping the list at number one is Chaplin in Windham County. The Crazy Tourist highlights its main street (a designated Historic Place on the National Register of Historic Places) and the trails located around town as main draws. Local staples like Diana’s Pool and Bach Dor Cafe are also given a shout out from the site.
Colebrook and Columbia place second and third on the list respectively, giving Litchfield and Tolland County some representation. Cromwell places fifth (keeping the letter “C” alliteration alive for the top 5), where River Highlands State Park and Cromwell Meadows Wildlife Management Area highlight the town’s natural charm.
