The Stonington team has been preparing for the potential impacts of Hurricane Henri and want to be sure you are prepared as well. As of now, the storm has moved west and is no longerĀ projected to make landfall near Stonington, but rather New HavenĀ around 4-5 pm on Sunday, with rainfall starting early Sunday morning and winds picking up later in the afternoon. We expect moderate to major flooding, with a potential storm surge of up to 5 feet and an additional rainfall of 4"-8".Ā  Wind gusts of 60-80Ā MPH are also expected.Ā

Please know, we may be issuing evacuation announcements later today, based on further storm data and the likelihood of storm surges. Please know your evacuation zone and make a plan. Due to COVID, we highly suggest that if you need alternate housing to find friends or family to stay with. If that is not possible, please know we will very likely be opening the Emergency Shelter at Stonington High School later this evening.
