Unique Paddle-Craft Event This Weekend In Mystic [UPDATE]

UPDATE: The event has been moved to Sunday, July 19, due to weather conditions.

Organizers released the following statement: "With the forecast for potential thunderstorms and high winds, the
Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce, with guidance from local and State safety teams, has moved the FloatSwella Concert Event from Saturday July 18 to Sunday July 19th . The hours, details, and band lineup remain the same."

MYSTIC, CT — Floatswella, a "pop-up paddle-craft only rally on the Mystic River," is coming up soon.

The event is organized by the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce in partnership with North Swell.

Floatswella is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. It will be along the west side of the Mystic River north of the Historic Bascule Bridge.

There are several launch points available for those who want to attend.

FloatSwella is a Mystic summer tradition in its seventh year.

The event will feature performances by Red Lion, Flowers & Kain, and Suaveski.

Admission is free, and there will be giveaways throughout the day.

"FloatSwella captures everything people love about summer in Mystic," Bruce Flax, president of the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement. "There's something magical about experiencing live music while floating on the river surrounded by friends, neighbors enjoying one of the most beautiful waterways in New England. It's an event that truly belongs to the community."
