WATCH: Stonington High School Honors Graduating Seniors
While in-person graduation ceremonies are out, the high school's advisors are finding other ways to celebrate seniors' accomplishments.
STONINGTON, CT — While the joy of being in a crowd for graduation won't be possible this year for seniors around the country, Stonington High School has taken steps to make sure graduates feel honored.
A video on their Facebook page shows how advisors have surprised seniors with signs in their yards and how seniors have responded with their own appreciation for staff and teachers.
"Stonington High School Senior Class Advisors planned a surprise for our seniors, which was placement of signs in their yards to show them how much we care," the post reads. "Nearly 50 staff and their families came to SHS, staying in their cars to honor social distancing, to pick up signs to distribute all at once to our beloved Seniors. Seniors showed their appreciation by posing for pictures with their signs, ending Staff/Teachers appreciation on a high note."
