Water Service Restored, Boil Water Advisory Remains In Stonington: UPDATE
The town has issued a boil water advisory due to a water main break reported Tuesday morning.
UPDATE: Water service has been restored to all impacted customers, town officials said.
Final repairs are being made to roadway surfaces with hopes of re-opening North Water Street later this evening. The precautionary boil water advisory remains until water quality testing is complete. (This if for water that is to be consumed) Aquarion has indicated that early tomorrow afternoon is the estimated time frame for the advisory to be lifted. Please reference previously sent map for impacted areas. Town officials will advise of any changes to this status. If needed, bottled water will be distributed at the Borough Fire Department until 6:30 pm tonight.
STONINGTON, CT ā The town has issued a boil water advisory due to a water main break affecting the public water system.

"Until further notice, all residents are advised to boil tap water before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one (1) minute and allowed to cool before use. Bottled water may also be used as an alternative," Deputy Police Chief Todd Olson said in a statement.
"This advisory is being issued as a precaution to protect public health. The Town is actively working to resolve the issue and will conduct the required testing to ensure the water is safe. Residents will be notified as soon as the advisory is lifted."

Crews are making repairs, but it's unknown how long it will take to fix the issue.
