Water Main Cleaning Planned In Stonington Area This Week

Aquarion Water Company has announced scheduled water main cleaning in parts of Stonington and Mystic.

STONINGTON, CT — Aquarion Water Company has announced scheduled water main cleaning in parts of Stonington and Mystic beginning Monday and ending Friday.

Work will take place daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as crews perform routine maintenance aimed at maintaining water quality across the system.

During the project, customers may experience temporary low water pressure, discolored water, or brief service interruptions. Residents are advised to store water ahead of time for drinking and cooking, and to delay laundry during work hours.

Aquarion noted that mineral buildup in service lines may cause discoloration even after work is completed. Customers should run cold water until it clears before resuming normal use.

Streets expected to be impacted include Jerry Brown Road, portions of Greenmanville Avenue, Whitehall Avenue, Whitehall Pond, Michelle Lane, Hendel Drive, Main Street in Mystic and Old Mystic, North Stonington Road, Gold Star Highway, Lantern Hill Road, Marjorie Street, Linda Avenue and Laura Avenue. Nearby streets may also be affected.
