Whelping . . .

I understand there's a new puppy in England.  The two-leggers mentioned it. I feel sorry for it.  Apparently it doesn't have a name, just "Baby Cambridge".  Can you imagine what it will be like for him in obedience class? "Sit, Baby Cambridge", "Heel, Baby Cambridge", "Go fetch the Royal St. Edward's Sceptre, Baby Cambridge".  I can just see Spot, Rover, and Bandit sniggering at that.  Still, it's a good thing his sire is the Duke of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, and not of Ugley, Essex.

I mean, it wasn't a surprise, was it?  Momma dogs carry puppies for quite awhile, and you'd have thought they could have come up with a name before she dropped the pup.  I like Cletus, myself.  Cletus Mountbatten-Windsor.  I think the AKA would like it too.

The Queen of England has five other dogs, Corgis I think - Emma, Linnet, Monty, Holly and Willow. Cletus would fit right in.  That sounds more scrappy than Linnet, more suitable for a male dog.  Good thing Cletus wasn't a girl dog, or I would have to call her a word that the friendly Junior Spam-catching robot wouldn't like.

I think Cletus would be a good name for the Queen's grandkid's new puppy.   I bet Linnet gets teased every time it goes out for a walk to do it's (his/her) business in Hyde Park (I don't know if Linnet is a dog or a b...., er, female dog, otherwise I would say "he" or "she"). "Hey Linnet, that's a pretty argyle sweater you have on today (snicker)".  Cletus wouldn't take that kind of insolence from commoners, and he wouldn't wear an argyle sweater.

All this talk about walking has me both excited and exhausted. Exhausted wins, nap time.
