Who Steals A 200-Pound, 10-Foot-Tall Wooden Sign?
Pollywogs owner Tia May-McCall says it must have taken more than one person to steal it. 'Someone knows something. Someone saw something.'

NORTH STONINGTON, CT — The thief, or thieves, who stole this sign have likely had some trouble hiding it.
A 200-pound, 10-foot-tall, hand-carved wooden sign for a child care center was stolen and the owner just really wants it back.
Tia May McCall, owner of Pollywogs Child Development Center on Route 2 in the old Raspberry Junction site, is not positive when it was taken, but she filed a report about the theft with state police on Jan. 10.

"I noticed it January 10 but also realized it was gone a couple days before that. You know how you go through life auto-pilot? I do know I remember seeing the tire tracks in front of stone wall during Christmas break, so maybe late December early January," she told Patch.
Owner of the popular child care center, May-McCall wrote on Facebook, "Someone knows something and someone saw something. It is impossible to hide. Please speak up so I can get it back."

May-McCall told Patch that the hand-carved sign, that stands 10 feet tall and weighs "at least 200 pounds" would require more than one person to manage the theft.
"No one but Pollywogs has any use for it," she said. "I just want it back."
She said that the custom-made sign "took months to create ...not to mention few years to design."
And while she believes whoever is responsible needs to be held accountable, she just wants "my sign back. Please."
"I am not the type of person to hate anyone and I really only want sign back. An apology and a reason why would be nice,” she said. But bottom line, “I just want my sign back up where it belongs."
