Mom’s we’re all busy, yes? With motherhood comes the understanding of the statement, “There are just not enough hours in the day.” We tend to put our lives second to those with the big almond eyes and jelly smeared all over their lips. Their dreams become our dreams, their hopes our hopes, and their disappointments, our sympathy.
With 3 kids of my own there is always someone with tears, a mess that needs cleaning and someone tugging on your shirt saying “mom, mom, mom”.
Yet, we find ways to squeeze in that 5, 10, perhaps 25 minute drive to dance class several times each week. I watched the first class of the year and then sat in again the other day, and I couldn’t believe my eyes. Toes were pointed, legs were straight and she was on focus mode. There was such an improvement in such a short amount of time. My little girl is becoming a dancer! I also viewed a level 7 class that same night, and my little one came up and sat in the doorway, for 5 minutes while i finished up. I’m sure you can imagine the conversation we had on the way home. “Mom their legs were so straight! And that one girl stretched all the way to the floor! Did you see how fast they were moving their feet!?”

I stated in a previous post, how sweet it was for me to see one of my previous students who is now a level 7, and how brilliant she has become. To know the possibility, that that could be my girl someday, makes every drive to class and rehearsal worth it. To see the excitement in her face… That look that nearly every little girl has when they see a pretty ballerina in a tutu… “I want to be that someday!” or in my daughters case… “Mom I could be even better than that someday, couldn’t I?”
