The University of Connecticut (UConn) Police Department will host a Tip-A-Cop event Saturday, Aug. 8 from 1-6 p.m. at UConn Dairy Bar at 17 Manter Rd. in Storrs to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut. During the event, law enforcement volunteers their time to work with UConn Dairy Bar employees, welcome customers, take orders, and serve treats to guests.
The UConn Fire Department will join the Police Department for an interactive Touch A Truck activity for the local community. There will be a variety of vehicles from the UConn Division of University Safety featured at the event for children and adults to explore, learn about, and meet their operators.
All tips received are dedicated to helping Special Olympics Connecticut provide life-changing sports, health, and fitness programs to athletes of all abilities. Tip-A-Cop is a Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut event.
