2011 Sterling House Lacrosse Registration Continues

Sterling House continues to accept registrations for the 2011 spring lacrosse season. Also offers 'Learn to Play Lacrosse' program.

Registration is open to boys and girls in grades 4 through 8 who are residents of Stratford or any other town that does not have a lacrosse program.

Interested players can register at Sterling House, 2283 Main Street, Stratford during normal operating hours: Saturdays from 9 am to 3 pm; Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 9 pm and Fridays from 9 am to 5 pm. Registration forms may be downloaded at www.sterlinghousecc.org under athletics and faxed to 203-377-3713 with payment by credit card.

On-line registration is also now offered at the same website.

Boys’ teams are grouped by age (U-11, U-13, and U-15). Girls’ teams are grouped by grades (4th to 6th and 7 & 8th). Practices will begin in March.

The lacrosse registration fee is $160 plus a $12 Sterling House individual membership fee (or $30 for a family membership) is also required.

STERLING HOUSE OFFERS “LEARN TO PLAY LACROSSE” PROGRAM 

Sterling House will offer a spring “Learn to Play Lacrosse” program for children in grades 1-3 for special fee of $80 plus a $12 Sterling House individual membership fee (or $30 for a family membership).

In addition, Sterling House will offer a reduced-price equipment package for first time players, which will include helmet, shoulder pads, gloves, arm pads and lacrosse stick. Players will also receive a jersey.

Experienced lacrosse coaches will teach the fundamentals of the game. Lacrosse, described as “America’s first sport” and “the fastest game on two feet,” is fun and exciting to play and promotes a healthy and active lifestyle.
