The resident and pets escaped the fire, which spread to the next-door home, according to officials.

STRATFORD, CT — Crews extinguished fires at two homes in a three-alarm fire Tuesday afternoon in Stratford, according to officials.

Firefighters responded around 2:50 p.m. on May 5 to multiple 911 calls reporting smoke and fire from two homes in the 100 block of Boswell Avenue in Stratford, according to a news release from Stratford Fire Chief Jermaine B. Atkinson

“Upon arrival to the scene fire crews immediately conducted searches of both occupancies while simultaneously performing fire suppression to locate and extinguish the source of the fire,” according to the news release. “The first arriving Chief Officer on scene arrived to take command and initiated a third alarm response due to the fire extending to the next-door residence. This response brought Milford and Bridgeport fire companies and additional Chief officers immediately to the scene for two simultaneous structure fires.
