4 Stratford Residents Arrested After Fight In Norwalk: Police

Police said four Stratford residents were arrested after a man was accused of striking a manager of a Norwalk bar with a stolen firearm.

STRATFORD, CT — Four Stratford residents were arrested early Sunday morning after one of the residents was accused of striking a manager of a Norwalk bar with a stolen firearm, according to Norwalk police.

In a news release, Police Lt. Tomasz Podgorski said officers received a report around 1 a.m. of a person with a firearm fighting with a manager of SOHObar in South Norwalk on the upper deck of a Haviland Street parking lot.

Officers quickly arrived in the area and found several people actively fighting. Officers were able to separate everyone and provided medical aid to the manager, Podgorski said.

Stratford residents Misael Diaz, 19, and Kaitlin Curtiss, 18, were both detained by police, according to Podgorski.

During their investigation, police learned another Stratford resident, Tavis Vazquez, 23, was trying to flee the area in a vehicle. After police surrounded the vehicle, Vazquez fled on foot with officers chasing after him, Podgorski said.

The officers caught up to Vazquez and recovered a Glock 45 with a high-capacity magazine he dropped during the chase. Further investigation revealed Vazquez struck the manager in the head with the firearm, which was found to be stolen from Shelton, according to Podgorski.

Officers searched the vehicle and found a second firearm, a Smith & Wesson M&P 40 with a high-capacity magazine, as well as loose ammunition, a stun gun, 465 grams of marijuana, 39.5 grams of mushrooms, THC gummies, scales and packaging materials for distribution of narcotics, Podgorski said.

Vazquez was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell a hallucinogen, possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree assault, second-degree assault with a firearm, first-degree threatening, interfering with a police officer, theft of a firearm, two counts of possession of a large capacity magazine, two counts of weapons in a motor vehicle and carrying a firearm without a permit.

His bond was set at $500,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to Podgorski.

Diaz was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell a hallucinogen, possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of a large capacity magazine, second-degree assault and criminal possession of a firearm.

His bond was set at $250,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to Podgorski.

Curtiss was charged with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with a police officer. Her bond was set at $2,000 and she is scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to Podgorski.

A fourth Stratford resident, Naistheisha Ramos, 24, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell a hallucinogen, possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of weapons in a motor vehicle and possession of a large capacity magazine.

Her bond was set at $250,000 and she is scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to Podgorski.
