5 Caught Burglarizing Vehicles In Stratford: Police
The group was spotted by an off-duty police officer during the overnight hours on Monday.
STRATFORD, CT — Four juveniles and an 18-year-old from Waterbury were arrested early Monday morning after an off-duty officer spotted them burglarizing vehicles in Stratford. At about 1 a.m. on Sept. 24, police responded to the area of Cutspring Road and Cheshire Street to investigate a report of several suspicious people.
The group was spotted by an off-duty Stratford police officer and investigation determined that they had been walking the streets going through unlocked cars and stealing items such as change and pocket books that were left in the unlocked/unattended cars, according to Capt. Frank Eannotti. The group was also found to be in possession of two stolen cars from Waterbury, Eannotti said. To sign up for Stratford breaking news alerts and more, click here.
Edward James Parmlee III, 18, of Waterbury, was arrested on charges of third-degree larceny and criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny. He was held on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 1. The four juveniles, all from Waterbury, were also charged with third-degree larceny and criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny.
