8th Grader at St. Mark School Dreams in Reality

An 8th grader at St. Mark School in Stratford wins the 2020 CT Regional Scholastic Art Award for her piece "Dreams in Reality."

When viewing her art pieces, some can hardly believe that the artistry came from a 12 year old. Jenny Wu, an 8th grade student at St. Mark School in Stratford, CT, recently won the 2020 CT Regional Scholastic Art Award for her piece “Dreams in Reality.” Selected out of 125 entries by The Connecticut Art Education Association, Jenny’s piece will be hung at the state legislative office for one year to be admired by all.

Jenny’s love of painting started early in Kindergarten Art class at St. Mark School. She later received formal art training from the Betty Art Studio in Trumbull. In just two years, Jenny was taught painting and creation with great care. Jenny’s love of art will continue with her as she attends Lauralton Hall this fall.
