After SHS Student Emergency, Staff Recognized For Response
Stratford High School staff received a standing ovation Monday for their assistance during a recent student medical emergency.

STRATFORD, CT — A group of Stratford High School staff members who acted quickly to help a student during a recent medical emergency were recognized at Monday's Board of Education meeting.
The incident occurred during biology teacher Alison Lucas's class, Superintendent Janet Robinson said. Lucas called the school's internal emergency team and removed her class from the area. School officials responded and a counselor rode in the ambulance and stayed with the student for five hours during the emergency. The student is expected to recover.
"We believe that all their actions really led to the very successful outcome," Robinson said. "... I just want to salute the staff for stepping in and just doing what needed to be done."
