The schools are receiving the free meals through a provision of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program.

STRATFORD, CT — Students at six Stratford schools will get a free breakfast and lunch every day during the coming school year. Qualifying schools include: Franklin Elementary School, Lordship Elementary School, Nichols Elementary School, Second Hill Lane Elementary School, Stratford Academy Johnson House and Stratford Academy Victoria Soto School.

The schools are receiving free meals for all students through the Community Eligibility Provision of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program, according to a letter to parents from Stratford Public Schools Chief Operating Officer Ronald Melnik.

Parents do not need to pay money, fill out forms or send children to school early to participate in the meal program, Melnik said. Breakfast will be part of the school day.
