5. 5 people without life jackets rescued from sinking boat off Connecticut coast, police say (ctpost.com) — Stratford police helped rescue five people from a sinking powerboat in Long Island Sound near Bridgeport's Pleasure Beach after it began taking on water Sunday morning. None of the boaters wore life jackets, but Westport officers located the vessel and everyone was safely brought back to Fairfield without injuries. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
