Bridgeport Rescue Mission "Stuff a Truck" Food Drive a Success

Thank you to everyone for helping us Stuff a Truck with more than 4 tons of food!

On July 28, kind-hearted Mission friends and partners dropped off more than 8,000 pounds of food at eight area Stop & Shop stores during our Stuff a Truck food drive event.

The groceries will be used to restock our pantry and feed hungry people throughout coastal Fairfield County.

Over $2,500 in cash donations was received as well, which will be put toward our most urgent food needs.

Our staff, volunteers and New Life Discipleship Program residents who were on hand to collect the food donations, want to express our deep appreciation to everyone who stopped, shopped and stuffed.

We also want to thank the eight Stop & Shop locations that hosted this important event as well as Valley Container who donated the boxes used for food collection.

Because of this overwhelming community response, we can continue to fight poverty from the inside out in Bridgeport and South Norwalk, ensuring hungry men, women and children are supplied with one of our most basic and life-sustaining needs.
