Greater Bridgeport Symphony Orchestra

Several months ago we were made aware that the Greater Bridgeport Symphony Orchestra is in financial straits.  Since then, the local press has done no follow ups and we are hearing nothing from the orchestra itself.  If you go to their website they say they will announce their season "soon".  In the past, by this time frame, brochures would be out asking for subscriptions.  It sounds to me as though they are hoping Maestro Gustav Meier will announce his retirement and "Since we can't find a competent conductor, we will cease operations".  That would be an easy "out" to a bad financial situation.  Greater Bridgeport Symphony Orchestra, if you are really serious about continuing, tell the community of your plans or we will consider you gone from the cultural scene.
