Summer of Service Sterling House Youth Volunteer Opportunities

This summer is offering Summer of Service, a youth volunteer program for students entering 8th through 12th grades.

The program provides students the opportunity to actively participate in organized volunteer experiences that meet community needs as well as receiving interview and workplace training.

These service-learning activities facilitate students with personal growth including the development of civic responsibility, increased social skills with peers and adults, enhanced self-esteem, and a sense of accomplishment.

In addition to volunteer training the program also offers on-going support with site visitations through summer.

Student volunteers will be placed in a variety of locations such as , , , , , and will be working with children through the Stratford Recreation Department and .

Sterling House collaborates with the Kennedy Center to train volunteers to work one-on-one with special needs campers at both Sterling House and Kennedy Center camp locations. This unique program provides an enriching opportunity for the volunteers and ensures the camper has a fun and successful experience.
