Bunnell Baseball Beats Cross-Town Rival Stratford In Tight Contest

Bunnell pitcher Alex Binion helped lead the Bulldogs to a 3-2 victory over Stratford.

STRATFORD, CT — The Bunnell baseball team edged cross-town rival Stratford 3-2 in a non-league game Saturday morning at Penders Field.

Bunnell starting pitcher Alex Binion was outstanding through six innings, keeping Stratford batters off balance throughout. He had a low pitch count, cleverly pitched to contact and had Stratford chasing many first pitches.

Bunnell got on the board in the first inning when Carlo Maselli singled in leadoff hitter Luke Dawson, who also singled to start the contest. Bunnell’s other two runs came in the top of the fifth when Dan Lombard came through with a clutch two-run single to increase the lead.
