Candidate Withdraws from Special Election in Stratford
The upcoming special election will fill vacancies on the Town Council.

STRATFORD, CT — Republican candidate James Duffy has withdrawn from the upcoming special election to fill the vacant Fifth District seat on the Town Council, according to the Stratford Star.
The Star reports Duffy cited family and work responsibilities as factors in his decision to pull out of the race.
Democrat Greg Cann and petitioning candidate John Dempsey are currently the only candidates on the ballot to run for State Rep. Joe Gresko’s former council seat but Republican Town Committee Chairman Lou DeCilio told the Star he hopes to find another candidate to replace Duffy by the end of the week.
