Stratford Girl Scout Designs No-Sew Cat Toy For Silver Award
A local Girl Scout created a cat toy project for her Silver Award.

Stratford resident Thea Tantral-Johnson has combined her dedication to Girl Scouts and her love for animals in her Silver Award project, Create for Cats. Thea joined Girl Scouts as a kindergartener and has been an active member for nine years with Troop #37470. She wants to be a veterinarian and is attending Trumbull High School’s Agriscience program. Thea has researched the importance of exercise and play for rescued cats in shelters and foster homes and designed a safe, no-sew cat toy. She will be hosting tables at the Stratford Farmer’s Market at Paradise Green on September 9th and 16th from 2 to 6 p.m. and Stratford Cat Project’s open adoption day at H3 Pet Supply on September 7th from 11 am to 3 p.m. to teach people how to make the toys. Instructions and materials will be provided. All cat toys will be donated to Stratford Cat Project and Stratford Animal Shelter. For more information, email createforcats@gmail.com
