STRATFORD, CT — A Stratford mother is speaking out after her daughter was sexually assaulted by a stranger at a sleepover, the woman told News12. The incident happened about 8 a.m. Saturday, when the 12-year-old woke up to a man who tried to place her arm between his legs, News12 reported.

The girl fought back, cried out to her friends and ran home, according to News12. The girl's mother called 911, according to News12, which reported that after the girl resisted the man, he exited toward the back porch.

When asked about the incident, Stratford police Capt. Frank Eannotti confirmed the department is investigating a possible sexual assault but declined to provide further details.
