Children's Department Reopens At Stratford Library

Everyone ages 2 and up will be required to wear a mask or face covering.

STRATFORD, CT — The children's department at the Stratford Library has joined the teen and adult services departments in reopening for brisk browsing and borrowing, the library announced in an email last week.

The library is operating under Phase 4 of its plan for operations during the coronavirus pandemic, meaning patrons can enter the library to browse the collections and pick up holds at the check-out desk. Those planning to visit the children's department should:

  • Browse and borrow briskly
  • Limit the visit to an hour or less
  • Stay with your group, if you came with one, to promote social distancing.

A temporary service desk behind plexiglass is set up to create a socially distanced space for librarians. Seating and tables are not available, nor are the library's toys, play space or children's department computer lab.

Per the governor's guidelines for reopening, everyone ages 2 and up will be required to wear a mask or face covering. The number of people in the building is limited, so patrons may have to wait before entering or be asked to finish their visit to make room for others.

For take-out service, call the children's department at 203-385-4165 and arrange for pick up, either at the checkout desk in the lobby or contact free outside the building.
