First Congregational Church of Stratford is looking for choristers to join its choir for their April 9, 2017 Palm Sunday Concert at the church. The choir will be directed by Dr. Joe Utterback, Music Director at the church for more than 20 years, and will feature selections from Handel's "Messiah" oratorio, including the "Hallelujah Chorus" concert, as well as selections from Dr. Joe's new composition, "Songs for Orlando", which will honor those lost in the mass shooting in Orlando, Florida in 2016. "Songs for Orlando" is reminiscent of Utterback's earlier piece, "Newtown Requiem".
Rehearsals at the church will begin on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 7:30pm and will be held weekly. The church is located at 2301 Main Street, Stratford. For more information, please call Dr. Joe directly at 203-386-9992.
