'Click It Or Ticket' Campaign Announced In Stratford
Police will be cracking down on seat belt violations through a "Click It or Ticket campaign."
STRATFORD, CT — Stratford police will be cracking down on seat belt violations through an “Click It or Ticket” campaign, officials announced.
Officials said police will be conducting “heightened enforcement of motor vehicle seat belt laws around Thanksgiving, and motorists are advised to buckle up for safety.”
The local Click It or Ticket program will have Stratford police officers roving in the area of Main Street and Warner Hill Road near the Merritt Parkway on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25; the area of Main Street and Barnum Avenue on Monday Nov. 29; the area of East Main Street and Ferry Boulevard on Wednesday Dec. 1; and the area of Stratford Avenue and Bruce Avenue on Thursday Dec. 2.

The hours of the special enforcement will be from 6 a.m. to 12 noon and from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on each of those days, according to a news release.
“All motor vehicle passengers in Connecticut are required to wear a seat belt, and adults are responsible for making sure minors are buckled up,” officials wrote in the news release.

Ticket fines range from $92 to $120.
Funding for the campaign is provided by a grant obtained by Stratford Police Department from the Connecticut Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
“This grant allows us to deploy additional officers to make our streets safer,” Stratford Police Chief Joseph McNeil said.
Another wave of Click It or Ticket enforcement will be conducted around Memorial Day 2022, according to officials.
