Dog Left In Hot Truck, Owner Arrested: Stratford Police

The man was arrested on a charge of cruelty to animals.

STRATFORD, CT — A Stratford man was arrested on an animal cruelty charge after police say he left his dog in a hot truck without any water, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Post reports Scott Fischer, 44, was charged after police responded to a complaint of a dog in distress outside the Pickle Barrel on Main Street. Police said a window was cracked open and the temperature inside the truck was 99 degrees. (To sign up for Stratford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Fischer told police that he left the dog inside the truck while he ate lunch to ensure that no one broke into it, according to the Post.
