Dougherty elected treasurer of PIACT

HARTFORD, Conn.—J. Kyle Dougherty, CIC, of Orange, Conn., was elected treasurer of the Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut, at the association’s Annual Convention, March 5-6, at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.

Dougherty is president of Dougherty Insurance Agency Inc., in Stratford, Conn.

As an active member of PIACT, Dougherty is education vice chairperson of the Association Programs Committee, and is a member of the Executive/Budget & Finance Committee. Dougherty also is a member of the Glenmont National Alliance Committee.

Active in his community, Dougherty has been on the Orange Congregational Church Board of Trustees since 2016 and has been chairman of the church’s Board of Deacons. Dougherty also is on the Board of Directors of the Stratford Chamber of Commerce, an officer in the local Shriners organization and a member of the America St. John’s Masonic Lodge #8.

PIACT is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies and their employees throughout the state.
