Embattled Stratford Pastor Fired Again After Reportedly Being Rehired
Defrocked pastor Dr. Robert Genevicz is accused of scamming elderly parishioners out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The ongoing saga of embattled Stratford pastor Dr. Robert Genevicz took another turn recently when officials of the Stratford Baptist church reversed their original firing of Genevicz following allegations he stole from parishioners only to fire him again, according to the Connecticut Post.
The Post reports that church officials recently had voted to fire Genevicz but later invalidated the vote under pressure from congregants and another vote was taken.
In that vote on Sunday, the church’s trustees voted 53 to 25 to fire Genevicz after he refused to step down, according to the Post.

Genevicz was arrested in March on charges of first-degree larceny for allegedly scamming a 71-year-old church member out of more than $173,000.
Genevicz recently wrote a typewritten confession to Stratford police and blamed his acts on his 15-year relationship with a woman with an extensive criminal record.
Genevicz was later served with a lawsuit by Cathy Devack, of Trumbull, who claims Genevicz defrauded her 88-year-old father of about $200,000, according to the Post.
