Terrifying Toons Double Feature: Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and Rankin-Bass TV Special “Mad Monster Party”

Who said that cartoons can’t be creepy? Forget Spongebob, Bugs, Homerand the rest… these are some seriously spine-tingling animation cult classics that will have both young and old smiling and shivering in equal measure! In the timeless Rankin-Bass Halloween TV special Mad Monster Party, a cavalcade of horror’s greatest monsters, including Dracula, the Invisible Man, the Mummy and more converge for a gathering worthy of the title. With character designs by Tales from the Crypt artist Jack Davis and a groovy 1960s soundtrack, this one is truly a unique experience. As for The Nightmare Before Christmas, Tim Burton’s 1993 masterpiece really needs no introduction. Based on Burton’s quirky kids’ book the tale of Jack Skellington’s well-meaning attempt to hijack Santa’s big night is brought vividly to life by Coraline director Henry Selick.

Special Guest: Veteran Comic Book Creator and Author Paul Castiglia
