Firefighter Injured, Cat Dies In Stratford Fire: Reports
Several people, including at least one firefighter, have reportedly been hospitalized after a fire in Stratford.

STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford Fire Marshal’s Office is continuing to investigate the cause of yesterday’s condo fire that sent several people, including a firefighter, to the hospital. Deputy Chief, Fire Marshal Brian Lampart said Thursday morning that “injuries were kept to a minimum” with three residents and one firefighter taken to area hospitals for evaluations.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at 685 Success Avenue just before 4 p.m. and worked for about two hours in extreme heat to extinguish the fire, which included 30 separate condo units under one roof, according to Lampart. To sign up for Stratford breaking news alerts and more, click here.
“The fire appears to have started on the outside of the building and within some plantings, burning its way up and into the building roof structure creating an extensive amount of damage,” Lampart said in a press release. “Approximately 25 Stratford Firefighters and an equal amount of Bridgeport Firefighters with several pieces of fire apparatus aggressively battled the blaze, rescued and evacuated many occupants and pets.”
