Wooster Middle School Principal Bryan Darcy recently announced he was leaving the district for a new position in Milford.
STRATFORD, CT — James Singletary has been named the interim principal at Wooster Middle School, Superintendent of Schools Uyi E. Osunde announced.
Singletary will take over for Principal Bryan Darcy, who is leaving the district to serve as the next principal at Jonathan Law High School in Milford. Darcy is replacing Fran Thompson, who was recently named the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel in the Wallingford Public School district.
“In 2019-20, Wooster Middle School was named as the CAS School of the Year while under Mr. Darcy's leadership,” Osunde wrote in a message to families. “Principal Darcy has had a transformational impact on David Wooster Middle School. His contributions will be missed. Please join us in congratulating him on this promotion and wishing him well as he moves forward in this new leadership capacity.”

“Mr. Singletary began his career in the Stratford Public Schools and has only worked for the Stratford Public Schools,” Osunde said. “He began as a science teacher at BHS, ultimately moved on to become the department supervisor and did district level coordinator work prior to being appointed as assistant principal at the middle school. He has been in his most recent position for the last 17 years. Mr. Singletary brings with him deep institutional knowledge and sound understanding of the work ahead.”
